Hello SOUL family!
We would like to thank you all for your prayers and support throughout this past year. God has done a great deal for our ministry in 2021 and used our team to rescue over 20 street children from homelessness! Our three Kenyan staff members have done such an amazing job even amidst the restrictions brought on by COVD-19. At the beginning of the year we accomplished one of our annual goals which was purchasing our first ministry vehicle. We now have one vehicle and two ministry motorcycles which has helped us cover more ground in Western Kenya.
Another goal we had hoped to accomplish in 2021 was to purchase land to build a facility for our ministry. This will include a rescue center for the street children who come off of the streets. God has opened doors to make this possible and we now have more than enough land to accomplish our goal. We plan on starting construction on this land this coming year and have already started the process for digging a water well and connecting power to the property.
This year one of our ministry partners, Hand Up Africa, constructed a building for one of the Children’s Homes in our area. These Children’s Homes are limited on funding and often at max capacity on how many children they can accommodate. The building that was constructed will help one of the homes more comfortably serve the children in their program. We praise God for the amazing work done and look forward to partnering with Hand Up Africa when it comes time to build our own facility this coming year.
Listed below are the 22 children that we rescued from homelessness this year. Each name has a very special story of how God used our ministry to reach them. Each child has had to endure more difficulties than any child should ever have to face. We thank God that by his amazing grace we are able to be in a position to rescue these children and get them started on the road to recovery.
These 22 children have been added into our follow up program and join the other 133 children that have been rescued by our ministry. This brings the total number of children rescued to 155! If you would have told us 9 years ago that we would be celebrating over 150 children rescued it would have been difficult to believe!
